The Hoang Lien Son Metamorphic Belt contains the oldest rocks in Southeast Asia: Archean and Proterozoic Orthogneiss, Paragneiss, and migmatites;

The Red River Shear Zone: Characterized by Left-lateral strike-slip motion; Visiting the apatite and copper deposits.

Optional: Ascending the Fan Si Pan peak (3143m)
